837,000 trademark applications for the first quarter of 2017, an increase of 13.9% from the same quarter of the last year (Apr-2017)
The State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC) reported at a press conference held on April 12, 2017 that the number of registrations of trademark applications has been increasing rapidly due to the strong awareness of trademark brands by business operators in the market. During the first quarter of 2017, 837,000 trademark applications were filed in China, an increase of 13.9% from the same quarter of the last year, and 636,000 trademarks were registered, an increase of 35.2% from the same quarter of the last year. The number of effective trademark registrations through the end of March amounted to 12.937 million.
