CNIPA Released Intellectual Property Data from January to October 2022 （2022-11）

According to the data released by the official website of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), as of October 31, 2022, in total there are 669,048 patent applications getting granted, 580,100 of which are domestic applications, while 88,948 of which are foreign applications, taking 13.3% of the total granted patents.  A total of 2,314,493 utility models have got granted, including 2,307,648 domestic applications and 6,845 foreign applications; 583,276 designs have got granted, with 573,547 domestic applications and 9,729 foreign applications.  There are 58,860 international patent applications accepted under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) .

From January to October, 2022, there are 5,365,172 trademarks approved for registration, including 5,212,419 from domestic applicants and 152,753 from foreign applicants.  139,355 trademark opposition cases have been adjudicated.  The trial of 369, 180 cases of various trademark appraisal cases have been completed.  There are 5 approvals for the protection of geographical products of geographical indications, 4744 market entities approved to use the special marks of the geographical indications, and 451 geographical indications registered as collective marks and certification marks. There are 7599 integrated circuit layout designs registered and issued.
